Paramount Skydance plans to initiate significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, removing about 2,000 US jobs as part of a expense reduction strategy valued at $2bn overseen by CEO David Ellison.

These job cuts follow the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed during August worth $8.4bn.

More overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, as the firm planning to announce complete information via its third-quarter financial update scheduled for November 10.

Prior news had indicated the firm was looking to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 jobs before the start of November.

By December 2024, the company retained about 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 temporary project employees.
